Who I Am

Hello, I'm Christine Duff. I hold an Elementary Education Degree from the University of Delaware, which has been the cornerstone of my rewarding career in education. Over the past two decades, I've had the privilege of working with Reading Assist, where I obtained an Orton Gillingham Certification that qualifies me to teach reading to students with dyslexia.

My journey with Reading Assist began as a dedicated volunteer in public schools, where I witnessed the transformative power of education. As time passed, I transitioned into the role of a Private Tutor, offering personalized support to students.

As Reading Assist expanded its reach and partnered with AmeriCorps to extend literacy support in public schools, I took on the responsibilities of a Trainer and Coach. I played an integral part in preparing AmeriCorps members to teach reading and writing to underachieving students effectively.

In addition to my institutional roles, I've cherished my role as a private tutor, which I find most fulfilling. I've had the privilege of working in both in-person and virtual settings, adapting my teaching approach to meet the diverse needs of my students.

My educational philosophy centers on recognizing that every student has a different learning style. I believe in tailoring approaches to accommodate these unique styles, ensuring that each student can excel academically.

On a personal note, I recently relocated to Bluffton, SC, in August 2023, after living in Wilmington, DE, for 35 years with my husband, Bruce, and our two children, Ethan and Bryce. In my leisure time, I enjoy sports like tennis, pickleball, and, more recently, golf, embracing the opportunities that the Southern lifestyle offers.
